Microneedling Skin Rejuvenation

Microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of fine short needles to create tiny punctures in the top layer of skin. Microneedling can be used to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and other types of scarring. It can also be used to improve the overall texture and tone of the skin.

At MirroRx by Lorrie, we offer micro-needling, nano-needling, and needling with an infusion of infusion of beneficial products, including growth factors and other add-on options.

We recommend starting with a package of 3 sessions at monthly intervals and then maintaining collagen stimulation once or twice every 6 months.

We feature a signature procedure that includes a special topical microdose of neuromodulators (toxin) mixture applied to the skin with microneedling to reduce pore size and improve the texture of the skin.

To prepare for this treatment, make sure you avoid the sun for at least 2 weeks prior, don’t have any active acne lesions or inflammatory skin conditions (bacteria can be spread to the whole face), and have a good meal before arrival. How Does Microneedling Act on Hair?

FILLERS- BELOTERO, RADIESSE

Belotero is a Hyaluronic Acid (HA) type of dermal filler.  HA is a substance that exists naturally in the skin and helps to keep it firm and plump. As we age, our HA stores naturally deplete and production decreases, our fat pads decrease in size and fall with effects of gravity, which is why our skin loses some of its plumpness and starts to sag. Belotero gives an immediate plumping or “filling” effect when injected into the skin, and also helps to replenish the skin’s natural HA. Belotero has been formulated to integrate seamlessly into the tissue so as to give natural-looking, subtle results. 

There is a full “family” of products from several manufacturers, each formulated slightly differently depending on the area or indication they are intended for. Belotero products can be used to smooth superficial to moderate lines and wrinkles, enhance the lips and restore volume to the face. Results are lasting and, as the product contains HA, which is naturally found in the skin anyway, it is considered a very safe dermal filler. It doesn’t require an allergy test prior to treatment, but this will all be discussed in your consultation appointment.

Radiesse is a collagen stimulator. Unlike Belotero, which contains HA, Radiesse contains microspheres of Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA), which are suspended in a soft gel matrix.  When Radiesse is injected into the skin, the product itself gives an immediate, visible lift to the skin, however the microspheres continue to work by stimulating the skin to produce more collagen. Over time, the microspheres are metabolized by the body, however, the new collagen remains, having formed a ‘net’ or ‘matrix’ of supportive tissue” around the microspheres. The new collagen then provides a long-term effect that can last a year or more. Radiesse is particularly effective at lifting and tightening the skin and can be used to treat areas of the face that are prone to sagging, such as the jawline and cheeks. It can also be used to smooth more severe lines and wrinkles.

Radiesse has been on the market for over 10 years and more than 200 clinical studies have been conducted during this time. It is a popular and safe product boasting high patient satisfaction around the world. Like Belotero, it contains biocompatible materials, meaning there is no need to have an allergy test. It is also the only dermal filler to be approved by the FDA for use in both the face and the hands.

It is also used hyper-diluted in other parts of the body for lifting and filling. This can be discussed during your consultation appointment.

This treatment works on our body in the same way that plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into energy.  High-intensity light-emitting diodes (LEDs), utilizing very specific, proven wavelengths of light, can trigger a natural bio-stimulatory effect in human tissue. How does it work?
